I've now seen 3 perfectly good RX-7s, including one today, looking dumb as hell with sharpie writing all over them, cut springs, JDM bro touches, drain-pipe exhaust, and obnoxious stickers. Dear owners: you're just screwing up a classic Japanese sports car and making yourself look like a hipster asshat. Also, rotary engines require maintenance too.

The cool thing about the Zero-fucks RX-7 was that it was a dirt cheap V8-swapped lightweight monster with way more power than it should have.

Doing these stupid things to an already-clean RX-7 but keeping the performance stock is like putting a "heat extractor" hood on your v6 Mustang in hopes that people will think it's a Cobra.

However, if someone has gone through the trouble of outfitting a turbo 302 and a 5-speed manual in an FB, along with new brakes and suspension, then I don't care what they do to the exterior. It's a badass car.

Agreed. The first one was somewhat original and was built out of pure scrap and now is silly fast. Taking a nice RX-7 that people have cared for over decades and scribbling all over it and turning it into rolling junk is plain idiocy. Parking it between a 328 GTS and TR6 really shows what a waste it is.

The V6 Mustangs all got the 99 style Cobra "heat extractor" hood for the 2004 model year. Source: my sister's 2004 3.9L (yes .9 not .8) Mustang

sort of like how all 280ZXs turbo or not got Turbo hoods for 1982

there's this guy locally, Alex Nehem, with a gorgeous red FB/SA22C RX7 with a basically stock fox 302ci in it. Immaculate red exterior and mild mods, it's the antithesis to that zero fucks shit

Notice how much taller the bulge, deeper the cut-ins and how there are two of them on the Cobra? That's the hood I'm talking about.

But I still didn't know that they put a pseudo cobra hood on the 2004 models. Good info.

I think they had a surplus of the earlier "single vent" style cobra hoods. The ROUSH packages also used this hood
